Have a break at a hidden cafe in Brisbane city
If you would like to take a break away from the hustle and bustle, I recommend you visit “Strauss”.
This cafe is tucked away in a narrow alley called the Xile Lane between buildings off Elizabeth Street.
I was so excited when I visited “Strauss” for the first time, it truly felt like I found a hidden spot.
Warm and cozy cafe

This signboard is a landmark.

When you go straight down the alley where the signboard is located, you can see “Strauss”!

When you first find “Strauss” you are greeted with the view in the photo above!

The atmosphere of the cafe is warm, relaxed and cozy. There is a special menu board and a striking art piece on the wall.

There were coffee bean packs next to an espresso machine.
“Strauss” is perfectly sized for relaxing in peace. With counter seats, a big table, and a couple tables that can seat 2-4 people, anyone can feel welcomed.

There were some tables and seats outside as well.
I used an outside table when I visited this cafe. Even if I was in the bustling city, a peaceful and quiet space spread before me.
The lane that the cafe is located in leads to the building, therefore there is a constant coming and going of people around the outside seating area. However, it didn’t bother me that much, maybe because the alley is not too narrow or cramped.
However, if you care about foot traffic or if you would like to eat and drink in the more quiet and relaxed area, it might be better to have a seat inside.
Satisfying omelette and tasty coffee

The variety of menu items such as omelettes, sandwiches, bagels, and salads made it hard for me to decide what I wanted to order.

The beverage menu is extensive with not only coffee, but also cold pressed juices and smoothies.

This time, I ordered an Oat Flat White ($6.3). The Flat White was amazing.

I also ordered the Double smoked ham, aged cheddar & shallot Omelette ($18.00) for lunch.
This omelette made me so satisfied, with firm eggs and fulfilling ingredients. I also enjoyed the melted cheese in the omelette.
If you would like to eat more, you can add sourdough bread for an extra $3.
How about spending a leisurely time at “Strauss” and escaping from the hustle and bustle?
This time, I introduced “Strauss”, a hidden cafe tucked away between buildings in Brisbane city.
I recommend you visit here if you would like to spend time at a cozy and warm cafe in the Brisbane city area.
