Having Ochazuke and Matcha latte cravings? “Wuta Cafe” is waiting for you!
If you would like to treat yourself with something warm and satisfying, “Wuta Cafe” is definitely worth a visit to try an *ochazuke and a matcha latte!
*Ochazuke: Ochazuke is a rustic Japanese dish, where a tea broth (such as green tea or dashi) is poured upon cooked rice and topped with a variety of ingredients (for example, seaweed, pickled plum, salmon) making it a truly unique dish to experience.
“Wuta Cafe” is located in the South Brisbane area, just a stone’s throw away from Brisbane CBD. South Brisbane is an area full of arts, which you can enjoy at the Queensland Art Gallery, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Queensland Museum Kurilpa, and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
Also, the South Brisbane area is nestled upon the Brisbane river, with walk paths and a park, therefore you can feel and enjoy nature even while in the city.
Enjoy the warmth and delight of an Ochazuke!

You can choose the main ingredients of their ochazuke from Wagyu Striploin, Miso Salmon & Ikura, Prawn & Ikura, and Chashu.
Also you can choose the ochazuke tea broth from Matcha or Hojicha (roasted green tea).
There are also Mentaiko scramble eggs, Peppery Tonkotsu Omurice, and Sashimi don.

In addition to the coffee beverage menu, there’s a delicious looking beverage menu featuring matcha and hojicha.

I ordered Ochazuke – Prawn / Ikura / Chive ($24.00) for lunch.
It tasted good with a serving of a plump prawn, popping texture of Ikura, and a creamy onsen egg.
I chose hojicha as my Ochazuke tea broth. I usually eat ochazuke with green tea or dashi, so I felt it was a unique experience! Compared to ochazuke with green tea, the ochazuke with hojicha had a toasty aroma and a comforting, rustic simplicity.
The last time I visited this cafe, I ordered the Miso salmon ochazuke, and it also tasted good! I highly recommend both options!

I ordered a WAKATAKE Oat Matcha latte ($8.80). It was also stunning!

The above photo is of the Mentaiko Scramble Eggs ($16.00) and YUGEN – without milk / iced ($12.00).
A bright atmosphere with natural sun light and wood accents
The cafe interior featured large windows, creating an open, airy space with plenty of natural sunlight.
The interior decor was predominantly wood, and had a warm color scheme.
There are some tables and chairs outside, so if you would like to relax outside, I recommend the terrace seats.
How about relaxing with a comforting bowl of ochazuke at “Wuta Cafe” in South Brisbane?
This time, I introduced “Wuta Cafe” in South Brisbane (Australia・Brisbane).
The South Brisbane area where this cafe is located is close to the Brisbane CBD, and easy to access, so if you have the feeling of, “I want to eat Ochazuke in Brisbane!” I recommend that you visit “Wuta Cafe”!!
